未來

每天起床,都不是平靜的。每次都是因為在想什麼而不能再睡。我說我是 a morning person, 或許我只是 a worried person. 我發現人不只是被過去的遺憾纏繞著,也會為未來的事而擔心。做人真的不容易。我要加油!

I recently read a book. more than 200 people over 60 yrs old were interviewed. These people were viewed by others as happy people. Via these interviews, the author has found 5 secrets to achieving happiness. After I read the book, I feel it made a difference for me (at least for now). I hope it will make in difference for you in turn. Below, I've summarized. I hope my points are what the author stated. (I might have put some points in my own words)

The Five Secrets you must Discover before you Die by John Izzo
(basically - how to be happy)

1. Be True to yourself
- live with intention/purpose
- listen to your heart
- do what you're passionate about
(but then, for me, there's the question of whether me doing something I'm passionate about can feed/clothe me)

2. Leave no Regrets
- it's better to go for an opportunity/ take a risk (and possibly jump out of your comfort zone) than to miss an opportunity and regret about it later

3. Become Love
- basically, be a loving person
- making people are priority (family, friends)
- help others in need if you can
- first, love yourself
- we choose to love

4. Live the Moment
- focus on the present (and don't spend it worrying about tomorrow or dwelling on a past bad experience), because the present is the only thing we have control of. Past cannot be changed. Future holds many things we cannot anticipate.
- life is too short. enjoy every moment. cuz once that second is gone, it's gone

5. Give more than you take
- again, be selfless
- make the world a better place ("remember that stars that we see at night .some of them are already long gone, just taking a million years for the light to reach us")
- do you want to be those people that continues to shine after death? make a impact to someone's life

Yeah, I thought so, but I wasn't sure. :p

Anyway, I think skimming the book and reading some of the those examples really helped.
