Personality

Personality -> weakness -> failure

How come change is so hard? I'm not gonna even try anymore.

I read a book on "Kaizen", Japanese for 改善. Here is the basic principle. There is something that you want to change really badly. You do it in little steps, a step so small, that you're still comfortable about the change. Keep taking those small steps until you reach the ultimate goal.

e.g. I thought I needed more exercise, so I started off doing 1 minute of walking in the same spot for one day. I did that for everyday for one week. The next week, I added another minute, making it 2 minutes. And so on.

Of course, some things need to be changed immediately. In that case, I'd have to say, do your best. That's all we can do for those cases.

Don't give up!

i did do the exercise thing for awhile, but i think i forgot about it afterwards.

the idea is to make the steps so small that you don't feel it's an obstacle.

for my case, i needed a reminder to do it. if i had that reminder,i would have continued doing it.

after writing this msg, i'm going to start again, and hope i remember :p
